As a 25th anniversary gift, the League of American Bicyclists (LAB), the largest bicycle advocacy organization in the United States, based in Washington, D.C., named "El Tour" the "National Bike Rally" for 2007. What this means is that all cyclists registering for "El Tour" will not only be bicycling in the 25th El Tour, but will also be part of the 2007 National Bike Rally.

All cyclists completing any of the 2007 El Tour events (109, 80, 66, 35- miles and Kids & Family Fun Ride of 4-miles and 1/4-mile) will receive the new commemorative 25th anniversary El Tour Medallion inscribed with El Tour's official name along with "2007 National Bike Rally". Because it’s El Tour's 25th anniversary and the National Bike Rally, Perimeter Bicycling is expecting record breaking attendance of 10,000-11,000 cyclists and is encouraging everyone to register early in case registration has to close due to the large numbers of cyclists who want to ride in this year's event. Registration could close at 11,000.
